Kenvue, formerly Johnson & Johnson’s consumer health division, has reported to reduce its workforce. Throughout the first half of the year, Kenvue will eliminate 51 positions at its temporary base in Skillman, NJ.

In April, Kenvue also plans to close a Los Angeles, CA location resulting in the loss of 84 jobs.

In 2023, Kenvue announced its plans to separate from Johnson & Johnson, operating as its own independent company. The company’s portfolio includes Neutrogena, Aveeno, Band-Aid, Listerine and Tylenol.

It was reported that Kenvue sales recently fell 2.7% as the 2023 cold and flu season had a slower start than the company expected as a result of discontinuations and inventory reduction in 2022.

Despite the planned layoffs, the company expects sales to increase by 1% to 3% in 2024 as CEO Thibaut Mongon prioritizes Kenvue’s skin health and beauty business in the U.S.

Kenvue recently signed a long-term lease in a 290,000-square-foot facility in Summit, NJ for its new global headquarters. The relocation process is expected to begin in 2025 through 2026. The campus will hold research and development space as well as corporate personnel offices.
